Eric Lander was a principal leader of the Human Genome Project and, to advance genomic medicine, launched the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where he is founding director. From 2009 to 2017, he was co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology for President Barack Obama. From 2021 to 2022, he served as President Biden’s Science Advisor and a member of his cabinet, as well as Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He has founded companies in biotechnology and energy.
